Mining Memories: Black Radical Archival Practices

Mining Memories: Black Radical Archival Practices is a curated series of five experimental short films that explore Black memory through archival materials—ranging from the deeply personal to the institutional. Each film serves as a poetic meditation on the intersections of past and present, the personal and political, illuminating how archives can become radical acts of preservation, resistance, and reflection.

Following the screening, join us for a conversation with Dallas-based filmmaker Don Thomas.

This program is curated by filmmaker and video artist Devon “Vonnie” Smith as part of his ongoing work featured in the HomeMade exhibition at Kinfolk House. The screening will take place at The Modern Museum of Fort Worth (Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth)
