Free Admission | All Ages Welcome
Remember square dancing in the school gym? There’s a whole lot more to the story—and a lot more fun!
Join Kinfolk House for an evening of square and contra dancing with African American Dance Caller Pathways (AADCP). Whether you're stepping onto the dance floor for the first time or already know and love these traditional dances, everyone is welcome to come move, connect, and celebrate together.
African American Dance Caller Pathways connects experienced dance instructors with a cohort of Black-identified aspiring dance callers. Through teaching, mentorship, and community engagement, the program nurtures reconnection between Black communities and traditional dances, honoring the Black cultural contributions that shaped these dance traditions.
Led by experienced instructors and emerging callers, this gathering offers an opportunity to experience the joy of traditional social dancing while celebrating cultural heritage, shared movement, and community.
No dance experience is necessary. Just bring yourself and a willingness to join in!
Admission is free and open to all ages. RSVP is preferred but not required.
